Marc Marquez, riding for Ducati, ended his Austrian Grand Prix skid with a thrilling victory in the sprint race, further bolstering his championship lead. Starting fourth on the grid, Marquez flawlessly navigated the Red Bull Ring to secure his first-ever win at the Austrian circuit, dedicating it to Pau Alsina, a young rider who recently passed away.

With this win, Marquez extends his lead by 123 points over Alex Marquez, his brother and closest contender. Alex secured second place, while KTM's Pedro Acosta completed the podium at his home circuit. Despite Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi claiming pole position, he finished fourth.

The race witnessed Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia stumbling with bike issues, forcing his retirement. Marc Marquez surged in the final laps, overtaking his brother and claiming his 20th win of the season in sprints and races combined. Alex Marquez expressed contentment despite past podium misses, stating he was delighted to compete at such a high level again.
