Record-Breaking Women's Rugby World Cup Kicks Off in England

The Women's Rugby World Cup is set to make history with unprecedented ticket sales. Over 375,000 tickets out of 470,000 have been sold, tripling figures from the last tournament in New Zealand and dwarfing those from 2010 in England.

This year's final at Twickenham on September 27 is projected to break the record for attendance at a women's international rugby match, with expectations of an 82,000-strong crowd. Only two matches, including the third-place playoff, will be held in London.

With the tournament kicking off this Friday in Sunderland, where England takes on the United States, the host nation is poised as the favorite, having lost only once in their last 58 matches. Record viewership and engagement are anticipated as England aims for a third title.
