The International Cricket Council (ICC) has dismissed a request from the Pakistan Cricket Board to remove Andy Pycroft from officiating in the ongoing Asia Cup. The PCB lodged a complaint alleging Pycroft prompted Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha to avoid shaking hands with India's Suryakumar Yadav during Sunday's toss.
According to an ICC source, the cricket governing body has decided to retain Pycroft despite the allegations. The 69-year-old Zimbabwean official is slated to oversee Pakistan's crucial group match against the UAE on Wednesday.
Adding fuel to the controversy, Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema submitted a separate grievance to the Asian Cricket Council, claiming Pycroft insisted on not exchanging team sheets between opposing captains, deviating from standard procedures.
