Cloudbursts and torrential overnight rains wreaked havoc in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, claiming at least five lives and leaving over 500 individuals stranded. The worst-hit areas included Sahastradhara, Maldevta, and Santla Devi.
Local rivers, including the Tamsa, approached dangerous levels, inundating areas near Tapkeshwar temple. Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman confirmed active relief and rescue operations.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami toured the affected districts, ensuring the state government's support for affected families while coordinating with federal officials for urgent aid and restoration efforts.
