Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Elderly Couple in Agra
An elderly couple, Bhagwati Prasad and Urmila Devi, died in a fire caused by an electric scooter in their Agra home. The blaze, sparked by a short circuit, engulfed their entire house. Police and fire services intervened but could not save the couple.

A devastating fire broke out in Agra's Laxmi Nagar area, resulting in the tragic deaths of an elderly couple, Bhagwati Prasad, aged 90, and Urmila Devi, aged 85. The blaze was ignited by an electric scooter parked inside their home, reportedly due to a short circuit.
The incident occurred late Monday night as the couple slept on the ground floor of their residence. Family members lived upstairs, and despite efforts to contain the inferno, Prasad succumbed to burn injuries on the spot, while Urmila Devi was pronounced dead at SN Medical College.
Jagdishpura police station's SHO, Pradeep Kumar, confirmed the sequence of events, adding that police and fire services rushed to the scene to manage the situation. The fire was eventually brought under control, but not before it claimed two lives.
