The Australian women's cricket team faced financial penalties for failing to meet the required over-rate against India during the second One Day International held in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
The team endured a historic 102-run defeat, marking their heaviest loss by runs in an ODI. Match Referee GS Lakshmi imposed the fine after determining that Australia was two overs short despite time allowances.
As per ICC regulations, a 5% match fee penalty applies for each unbowled over. Captain Alyssa Healy admitted guilt, avoiding a formal hearing process. Umpires Vrinda Rathi, Janani Narayanan, Lauren Agenbag, and Gayathri Venugopalan raised the charge.
