Haruka Kitaguchi Faces Setback at World Athletics Championships
Japanese javelin star Haruka Kitaguchi failed to qualify for the World Athletics Championships final, disappointing fans. Japan's celebrated javelin thrower, Haruka Kitaguchi, faced a setback at the World Athletics Championships, failing to reach the final despite a stadium full of hopeful supporters. The crowd roared with anticipation, but Kitaguchi's best effort was a modest 60.38 meters.
Kitaguchi, who trains in the Czech Republic with coach David Sekerak, gained fame in 2023 by becoming the first Japanese woman to win a world title in a field event with a remarkable throw of 66.73 meters. She further solidified her status by claiming an Olympic gold in Paris, an exceptional feat for Japanese athletics.
