Noah Lyles delivered a stunning performance to capture his fourth consecutive world 200 meters gold medal, clocking in at 19.52 seconds. His remarkable finish eclipsed compatriot Kenny Bednarek, who earned the silver in 19.58 seconds.
With this victory, Lyles has matched sprinting legend Usain Bolt's record, who also claimed four straight world titles from 2009 to 2015. A new look accompanied his celebration, as Lyles displayed four fingers to symbolize his triumphs, while Bednarek, with two world and two Olympic silvers, reflected on his frequent runner-up status.
Meanwhile, Bryan Levell secured a bronze with a personal best time of 19.64 seconds, snatching Jamaica's first medal in this event since Bolt's famed sprint double in 2015. Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo finished just short of the podium.
