Swiatek Storms Into Korea Open Final Amid Rainy Chaos
World number two Iga Swiatek advanced to the Korea Open final, overcoming quarter and semi-final opponents despite rain delays. She defeated Barbora Krejcikova and Maya Joint, setting up a final against Ekaterina Alexandrova. Swiatek aims for her third trophy of the season and to close the gap on top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka.

Iga Swiatek, the world number two, showcased her determination by reaching the final of the rain-disrupted Korea Open on Saturday. The Polish star dispatched Barbora Krejcikova with a dominant 6-0 6-3 win in the quarter-finals, before swiftly defeating Maya Joint 6-0 6-2 in the semi-finals.
'I'll just focus on myself and the goals that I had before and continue to do what I was doing throughout the tournament, because it's been working,' Swiatek commented ahead of her upcoming clash against second-seeded Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova. 'The final is supposed to be the toughest and it always produces a different kind of stress.'
Swiatek, eager to make a mark in her first South Korean appearance, is on track for her third season victory and aims to narrow the lead between herself and top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka. Sabalenka recently withdrew from the China Open after an injury at the U.S. Open. Meanwhile, Alexandrova reached the final round by overcoming Katerina Siniakova 6-4 6-2 in a rain-affected match.
