Gauff and Anisimova Set Up All-American China Open Semi-final
Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova secured their spots in the China Open semi-finals after defeating Eva Lys and Jasmine Paolini respectively. Gauff aims for back-to-back WTA 1000 titles, while Anisimova qualifies for the WTA Finals for the first time, setting up a thrilling all-American semi-final clash.

Coco Gauff advanced to the China Open semi-finals after a hard-fought 6-3 6-4 victory over Eva Lys on Thursday. Gauff, aiming for consecutive WTA 1000 titles, overcame tough opposition from the 66th-ranked German to set up an all-American semi-final against Amanda Anisimova.
Gauff faced a challenging route to the semi-final, having battled through three-set matches in the previous rounds. "I'm happy with how I played today," Gauff stated. Despite a few stumbles, including double-faults, she managed to close out the match in just under an hour and a half.
Meanwhile, world number four Amanda Anisimova overcame a first-set hiccup against Italy's Jasmine Paolini to secure a 6-7(4) 6-3 6-4 win. Anisimova, who recently recovered from an ankle injury, saved six break points in a crucial third-set game and ultimately earned her place in the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia.
