Ghana has officially secured its spot in the 2026 World Cup, making it the fifth African country to qualify for the prestigious tournament, set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Alongside Ghana, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia will represent Africa next year.
The decisive moment came from Tottenham's Mohammed Kudus, who scored in the 47th minute, ensuring Ghana's victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium. This win was crucial, although results elsewhere had already paved Ghana's pathway to qualification.
Elsewhere, Madagascar's hopes were dashed as they fell to a 4-1 defeat against Mali, while Burkina Faso ended their campaign with a win over Ethiopia. The competition continues as group runners-up vie for their chance in the mini tournament leading to a playoff showdown.
