India's Sporting Ambitions: A Leap into the Global Top Ten by 2036
Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya expressed optimism about India's future in global sports rankings, projecting a top 10 position by 2036. He attributed this growth to improved sports governance under Prime Minister Modi's administration. Additionally, India has won the bid for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and aims for the 2036 Olympics.
In a bold declaration, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated that India is poised to become one of the world's top 10 sporting nations by 2036, with ambitions to reach the top five by 2047.
According to Mandaviya, the Narendra Modi-led government has played a crucial role in streamlining sports governance, thus creating a structured and efficient sporting ecosystem. "The government's initiatives offer a platform for young talents to excel," Mandaviya remarked during a press briefing.
Highlighting India's successful bid for the 2030 Commonwealth Games, Mandaviya confirmed that preparations are underway to meet the International Olympic Committee's standards, as India eyes the 2036 Olympic Games.
