Major Doping Bust: NADA and Local Authorities Crack Down on PED Supply Chain

In a significant triumph for the National Anti-Doping Agency's (NADA) Intelligence & Investigations (I&I) unit, a critical tip-off led to the confiscation of prohibited substances in Najafgarh. The operation, conducted in collaboration with local police, uncovered several banned anabolic steroids such as methenolone and stanozolol.

The crackdown was orchestrated by Central Food Safety Officers and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) officials following specific intelligence from NADA. Roughly 2,800 capsules and tablets, along with 11 injectable units of anabolic steroids, were retrieved from Gaurav Vats Nutrition—an establishment owned by Gaurav Vats.

These substances, illicit under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations, are utilized for unnatural muscle mass enhancement. WADA President Witold Banka acknowledged the raid, stressing joint efforts to dismantle doping networks, as India's doping challenges continue to pose a hurdle for its Olympic hosting aspirations.
