Indian women's cricket team's head coach, Amol Muzumdar, has acknowledged veteran all-rounder Deepti Sharma's struggle in recent matches but remains optimistic about her return to form. The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is facing challenges in the ongoing WT20I series against South Africa, with three consecutive losses. Sharma's lack of wickets adds to the woes.
Sharma, who played a pivotal role in India's previous successes, has been unable to deliver with the ball, conceding substantial runs against South Africa. In a recent game, she conceded 46 runs from 3.3 overs and has managed just 51 runs and seven wickets in her last 10 games across formats.
Muzumdar is adamant that Sharma's class and skill will soon shine through. Looking ahead to the T20 World Cup in June, he stresses the importance of the bowling unit improving, particularly during Powerplay overs, to bolster India's prospects in upcoming matches.
