Former Cricket Star Doug Bracewell Handed Suspension for Cocaine Use
Former New Zealand cricketer Doug Bracewell received a two-year suspension after testing positive for cocaine. Bracewell, who retired in December, was tested following a game in September. Essex, his last club, supports his rehabilitation. Bracewell had previously faced sanctions in New Zealand for cocaine use.
Doug Bracewell, a former international cricket player from New Zealand, has been suspended for two years following a positive test for cocaine, as announced by England's Cricket Regulator.
The 35-year-old retired cricketer tested positive for cocaine and its metabolite during an in-competition sampling last September, a violation under the England and Wales Cricket Board's anti-doping regulations.
Essex cricket club, where Bracewell concluded his career, confirmed the failed drug test, expressing their commitment to supporting the player through a rehabilitation process.
