Poland to Host European Athletics Championships 2028

Poland is set to make history as it welcomes the European Athletics Championships for the first time in 2028, with Silesia selected as the host venue, European Athletics announced on Friday.

The Silesian Stadium in Chorzow, known for the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, part of the Diamond League, will stage the championship from June 3-8, just a month before the Los Angeles Olympics.

European Athletics President Dobromir Karamarinov expressed excitement, calling it a glimpse into the future. Poland ranks sixth in the event's history, boasting 59 golds among its 185 total medal haul since the championships began in 1934.
