Jasmine Kaur, a prominent shot putter from Punjab and National Games gold medalist, has received a two-year suspension following a doping violation. The 23-year-old athlete was found guilty of using Terbutaline, a prohibited substance often found in cough syrups.
Kaur's provisional suspension by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) was initiated last year, and the recent update on the NADA website confirmed her two-year ban, effective from March 28, 2025. Her impressive personal best throw of 15.97 meters had secured her the gold at the National Games in Dehradun.
The NADA has also announced suspensions for other athletes, including former India basketball player Amritpal Singh, who faces an eight-year ban, and several others from various sports disciplines who were found guilty of doping infractions.
