On Sunday, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya released the Srinagar Khel Sankalp document at the conclusion of the three-day Chintan Shivir. The document outlines a national vision to cultivate a robust sports culture in India through cooperative federalism, emphasizing athlete-centric development and infrastructure expansion.
The document highlights sport as a catalyst for economic growth and nation-building, promoting tourism, attracting international events, and bolstering local industry. It urges sports federations, states, and the Centre to work harmoniously to transform India into a sporting powerhouse, with aspirations to host major global events.
The Chintan Shivir, chaired by Mandaviya, included over 15 state sports ministers and notable sports personalities who discussed the future of Indian sports. The initiative emphasizes identifying talent, developing regional sports clusters, and leveraging India's geographical diversity to build sporting communities, aiming for a future where sports contribute significantly to the nation's unity and economic prosperity.
