Langer's Lament: LSG's Home Woes Continue in Thrilling Super Over Defeat
Lucknow Super Giants coach Justin Langer voiced frustration after a fourth consecutive home loss in IPL 2026, citing failure to adapt to pitch conditions. Despite the setback against KKR in a Super Over, Langer remains hopeful for playoffs, defending decisions and backing players like Nicholas Pooran.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer expressed his deep frustration following the team's fourth straight home defeat, a nail-biting Super Over encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2026 season. During the post-match press conference, Langer cited the team's inability to adjust to shifting pitch conditions as a pivotal factor in their loss.
"It's frustrating. The red soil wicket was fast and bouncy, yet we struggled to adjust to the black soil, which was slower and lower," Langer remarked. He acknowledged the recurrent home losses as disappointing for both players and fans, emphasizing the need to adapt quickly. "I feel for our fans and supporters, and it's crucial we adapt better," he added.
Despite the disappointment, Langer remains optimistic about LSG's playoff prospects, stressing positivity during tough times. He defended the decision to send Nicholas Pooran during the Super Over, emphasizing his exceptional record against KKR spinner Sunil Narine, and expressed confidence in Pooran's ability to regain form.
