Uncertain Future for 40 Boxers: Omission Sparks Controversy
Forty boxers are left in limbo after being omitted from the Sports Authority of India's sanction list for the national camp. This raises concerns about their participation in this year's Commonwealth and Asian Games. The Boxing Federation of India is in talks to resolve the issue swiftly.
Forty promising boxers have been thrust into uncertainty after missing out on the Sports Authority of India's list for the national camp, raising doubts over their participation in pivotal tournaments like the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games this year.
The selection policy dictated by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) promised spots to the top two finishers from the Chief of Army Staff Cup in each weight category, but the exclusion now threatens their chances.
The BFI is in active discussions with SAI to address this oversight, with its resolution critical for proceeding with assessments ahead of the prestigious competitions.
