Liverpool Immortalizes Jota and Silva with Anfield Tribute

Liverpool Football Club is set to commemorate its former forward Diogo Jota, along with his brother Andre Silva, by constructing a permanent memorial at Anfield. The endeavor follows their untimely demise in a car crash in northwestern Spain last year.

The tribute includes a heart-shaped sculpture, aptly named 'Forever 20,' reflecting Jota's jersey number at the club. The number has been retired across all levels at Liverpool, including its women's and academy teams. In addition, Silva's number 30, which he wore with Penafiel in Portugal's second division, will also feature prominently.

With emotional resonance, the memorial will be atop a Granby Rock-faced stone plinth, engraved with heartfelt dedications and physical tributes left at Anfield. Ahead of the 2026 Premier League season, a minute's silence was observed in memory of the brothers before Liverpool's game against Bournemouth.
