Inside the Ring: Boxing Federation of India Faces Government Scrutiny

The controversy arose after the Sports Authority of India (SAI) called for the suspension of a boxing assessment camp, amid allegations of unfair practices. The camp aimed to select participants for the upcoming Commonwealth and Asian Games, using results from the Chief of Army Staff Cup held in April.

Questions have been raised about the exclusion of non-armed forces boxers and the delayed announcement of trial bout winners. The SAI insists on transparency, demanding written assurances of fair practices from the BFI, which remains under scrutiny to comply with established sports governance norms.
