Former Spain defender Sergio Ramos is set to seal the purchase of his boyhood club, Sevilla, as he partners with the investment group Five Eleven Capital. The proposed agreement involves acquiring 80% of the club's shares, valued at around 400 million euros, according to reports from Spanish media on Tuesday.

The deal will require a green light from both LaLiga and the Spanish National Sports Council before finalization. Despite Sevilla's continuous presence in LaLiga since 2001-02, the team faces relegation challenges as they currently rank 13th, sitting only three points clear of the drop zone with three matches remaining.

Ramos, renowned for his triumphs with Spain's national team and Real Madrid, returned to his roots in 2023 to play a season with Sevilla. His strategic move to buy the club aligns with his deep ties and storied history with Sevilla, where his career first took off.
