Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has equalled Serbian icon Novak Djokovic's remarkable milestone of 31 straight victories in the ATP Masters 1000 circuit. This achievement came after Sinner dominated qualifier Andrea Pellegrino with a 6-2, 6-3 win at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, according to Olympics.com.

Sinner, now the world's top-ranked player, completed the match in 88 minutes at Campo Centrale, securing a place in the quarterfinals. He is set to face either Andrey Rublev or Nikoloz Basilashvili next. Despite Pellegrino's opportunity to break Sinner's serve in the second set, Sinner elevated his game to win four consecutive games and seal victory on his first match point.

Sinner's streak started at the Paris Masters last year and includes five consecutive Masters 1000 titles, having dropped just two sets across 62 matches at this level. His 57-0 record against players ranked outside the top 50 and an 18-0 record against fellow Italians enhance his dominance. A win in his next match would uniquely place Sinner as the all-time leader in consecutive ATP Masters 1000 victories.

Earlier this May, Sinner clinched the Madrid Open title by defeating Germany's Alexander Zverev, marking his unprecedented run of five straight Masters 1000 titles, as noted by the ATP website. Reflecting on his accomplishments, Sinner attributes his triumphs to relentless hard work, discipline, and teamwork.

"It marks the culmination of substantial effort and sacrifice," Sinner commented. "I'm immensely grateful for my self-belief and the relentless support of my team. Our collective success signifies our perseverance and preparation." Sinner acknowledges that while the highs are significant, he remains grounded about the ups and downs inherent in the sport.
