Dramatic Own Goal Stalls Al Nassr's Title Hopes

In a dramatic turn of events, Al Nassr's goalkeeper Bento inadvertently cost his team a crucial victory by scoring a 98th-minute own goal against Al Hilal, culminating in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

With seconds to spare, Al Nassr were on the brink of securing their first Saudi Pro League title since the 2018-2019 season. However, the Brazilian international failed to intercept a long throw-in from Al Hilal, leading to the ball bouncing into his own net. Despite this setback, they remain atop the league with 83 points from 33 games, ahead of Al Hilal by five points, who have a game in hand.

The title could still be theirs with a win against Damac in their final match on May 21 or if Al Hilal fails against Neom on Saturday. Earlier in the match, Mohamed Simakan scored for Al Nassr after a corner, and Kingsley Coman narrowly missed doubling the lead. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo's quest for a first domestic trophy with Al Nassr continues as his second-half effort flew wide.
