PV Sindhu, the renowned Indian badminton player, has expressed her views on the newly approved 15-point scoring format set to be introduced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) from January 2027. Sindhu believes the change will be beneficial for attacking players like herself, but it will also require constant vigilance and agility.

Although Sindhu acknowledges the potential advantages the 15x3 format offers, she notes its demanding nature, describing it as 'strenuous and exhausting' for players who must be alert throughout matches. Despite the format's potential to benefit senior players with shorter games, Sindhu denies it will reduce the overall load on players.

Currently serving as the chair of the BWF's Athletes Commission, Sindhu plans to commence her preparations for this new format by the end of the year. With key tournaments on the horizon, Sindhu remains focused on adapting to the challenges posed by the updated system.
