In a gripping IPL 2026 encounter, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) showcased resilience, setting a challenging target of 187/5 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow this Friday. Key to CSK's innings was a stellar 71-run performance by Kartik Sharma, complemented by Shivam Dube's dynamic, unbeaten 32 off 16 balls.

CSK had a promising start with openers Sanju Samson and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad easing their team to 20 runs in the initial two overs. However, the tide turned with LSG pacer Akash Singh dismantling their top order. Singh's impressive spell saw him claim Gaikwad for 13 and Samson for 20, leaving CSK floundering at 37/2 by the sixth over.

Despite stumbling to 71/3 by the halfway mark, CSK regrouped courtesy of Kartik Sharma and Dewald Brevis, stitching a sturdy partnership to navigate to 108/3 in 13 overs. Sharma's fifty off 35 balls was a highlight, though the momentum swung back to LSG with key wickets by Mohammed Shami and Shahbaz Ahmed. Eventually, CSK concluded their innings with a robust 187, courtesy of late contributions from Dube and Prashant Veer.
