In a dramatic turn of events at Sylhet, Pakistan's fast bowler Hasan Ali was stretchered off the field after suffering a head injury during day one of the second test against Bangladesh.

Ali sustained the injury while attempting a return catch off a shot from Tanzid Hasan Tamim in the eighth over, leaving him clutching his head on the ground. Medical staff attended to him immediately before he was taken off the field.

Surprisingly, the 31-year-old pacer returned to the field in the 16th over, a move that appeared precautionary, and resumed bowling before the morning session concluded. Bangladesh, who are ahead 1-0 in the two-match series, went into lunch at 101 for three.
