Max Verstappen's debut at the Nuerburgring 24 Hours endurance race ended in frustration as a late driveshaft failure dashed his hopes for a win. The Formula One world champion experienced strong performances at the start, sharing the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG GT3 with fellow drivers.

Despite being a popular attraction that had the venue packed with a historic turnout of 352,000 attendees, Verstappen's chances were thwarted by mechanical issues that occurred just hours before the race's conclusion.

Another Mercedes crew ultimately took the victory from 25th on the grid. Verstappen remains optimistic about returning for future challenges as he shifts his focus to the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
