India's U-18 Hockey Squads Aim for Impressive Start at Asia Cup

India's Under-18 boys' and girls' hockey teams are gearing up to make a memorable entry into the Asia Cup, buoyed by the leadership of stalwarts Sardar Singh and Rani Rampal. The players completed rigorous training in Bhopal and are keen to showcase their abilities on the continental stage.

As part of their preparations, the boys' team, captained by Ketan Kushwaha, engaged in a competitive four-match series with Australia, gaining valuable insights and experience. In Pool A, they will face strong opponents including Japan and Korea. Meanwhile, the girls' team, led by Sweety Kujur, also holds high hopes following a confidence-building series against Australia. They will open against Malaysia in Pool A.

The competition is fierce, with only the top two teams from each pool advancing to the semifinals. Both teams aim not only to demonstrate their prowess but to carry forward the legacy of Indian hockey, with a strong focus on teamwork and strategic play.
