Rishabh Pant has resigned from his role as captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, following the team's last-place finish in the Indian Premier League for the first time, according to a franchise announcement on Friday.

Pant, a notable wicketkeeper-batter, was signed by Lucknow in 2025 for a record $3.21 million. Despite the high expectations, his form dipped, leading to a lackluster season where the team won only four out of 14 matches and missed the playoffs for the third consecutive year.
