Kumar Sangakkara, head coach of the Rajasthan Royals, has expressed disappointment over Sam Curran's sudden withdrawal from the IPL citing a season-ending injury, only to see Curran playing for Surrey in the T20 Blast.

Sangakkara highlighted the ongoing challenge of overseas player availability in the IPL and underscored the necessity for the BCCI to enforce strict policies to uphold contractual obligations. After losing to Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2, Sangakkara noted how the team had to scramble for a replacement in Dasun Shanaka following Curran's exit.

Sangakkara also mentioned that although injuries are inevitable, there must be a clear and firm policy to manage such situations, ensuring teams remain balanced. To uphold the league's integrity, he urged the BCCI to maintain their stringent rules regarding player commitments.
