Dozens Arrested Amid Violence at Paris PSG Champion League Celebrations

Parisian authorities detained numerous individuals following violent disruptions during celebrations of Paris Saint-Germain's recent Champions League victory. Fans, jubilant after the win over Arsenal in Budapest, clashed with police as celebrations spiraled out of control late Saturday.

Thousands gathered near the Arc de Triomphe, sparking chaos with flares and car horns. While most celebrated peacefully, some caused disturbances, vandalizing businesses and setting cars on fire. Meanwhile, police prevented a group from storming a station in the upscale 8th Arrondissement, dispersing the crowd effectively.

By 10 p.m., officials reported 45 arrests. Paris police also managed to control about 1,000 fans near PSG's stadium, clearing makeshift barricades made from bicycles. Tensions were high, reminiscent of the chaotic scenes last May when PSG first clinched their title, prompting a significant police presence across the city.
