Police Apprehend Suspect in Tirunelveli-Tenkasi Gang Assaults

Law enforcement officials have detained a suspect linked to a series of brutal gang attacks in the Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts, which targeted individuals from the SC community. These incidents involved a gang on motorbikes using sickles, resulting in injuries to seven people.

The suspect, Ayyappan from Nettur, was located in North Ariyanayagipuram. During his capture, he reportedly attempted to assault officers with a weapon, prompting police to fire in self-defense. Ayyappan was subsequently injured and is now recovering at the Government Hospital in Cheranmahadevi.
