Debt-laden telecom giant Vodafone Idea has broadened its 5G service reach to 23 additional cities, now encompassing popular locations such as Jaipur, Kolkata, and Lucknow. This brings the firm's 5G presence to a combined 17 telecom circles, according to the company's Monday statement.

Vodafone Idea's new 5G rollout phase focuses on cities including Ahmedabad and Cochin. Users equipped with 5G-enabled devices in these areas can use the network as it becomes active. To attract new customers, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data plans starting at Rs 299 as an introductory deal.

On the 4G front, Vi has improved coverage with 900 MHz band deployment over 65,000 sites and added over 56,000 1800 MHz/2100 MHz/TDD band sites. These efforts led to a 35% enhancement in 4G data capacity and a 26% increase in speed. Plans to add 100,000 new towers in six months are also underway.
