Switch Automotive Mobility, an electric vehicle subsidiary of the Hinduja Group, is undergoing a significant leadership change. The firm announced that its CEO, S Mahesh Babu, will be stepping down from his role effective August 31. In his place, Ganesh Mani, the Chief Operating Officer at Ashok Leyland, will take on the additional responsibility of CEO of Switch Automotive Mobility Limited starting September 1.

Babu, who joined Switch in November 2021, is leaving to pursue opportunities outside the Hinduja Group. During his tenure, Babu was instrumental in steering the company towards achieving important financial milestones, including reaching EBITDA break-even in the fiscal year 2025. "We appreciate Mahesh's leadership and contributions," said Dheeraj G Hinduja, Chairman of Switch Mobility. "The company is now positioned to scale its business and achieve a positive PAT status soon."

Ganesh Mani is expected to bring his extensive experience in operational excellence to the role, aiming to drive Switch India into its next growth phase. "This transition aligns with our strategy to utilize Ashok Leyland's strengths, optimizing operational costs while developing top-tier battery electric buses and light commercial vehicles," the company stated in a release.
