Tesla has reported a decline in sales across Sweden and Denmark for the sixth consecutive month, highlighting the hurdles the EV maker encounters as competitors increase their market presence. The dwindling popularity of CEO Elon Musk also contributes to the challenges. Surprisingly, Tesla experienced a robust 54% year-on-year growth in Norway, driven by a 115.3% increase in Model Y registrations to 5,004 units.

The company started delivering the new Model Y across European markets in June, having initiated orders months earlier. However, deliveries in Norway began in May, marking a surge in sales. In contrast, Tesla's Swedish sales dropped by 64.4% year-on-year. Similarly, Denmark saw a sales decrease of 61.6%, with the revised Model Y sales falling 31.2% to 1,155 cars, raising concerns about the brand's longevity.

Analyst Matthias Schmidt remarks that new model updates serve as a short-term sales boost but don't sustain growth. Although the BEV market is expanding in Western Europe, Tesla is witnessing a contraction. The publication of Tesla's registration figures coincides with Elon Musk's political dispute with former U.S. President Trump, adding complexity to the market dynamics.
