Robotics enthusiasts have a new haven as Beijing unveils a groundbreaking store dedicated to humanoid and consumer-friendly robots. This pioneering outlet will display over 100 state-of-the-art models from 40 renowned Chinese brands including Ubtech Robotics and Unitree Robotics, highlighting China's intent to dominate the AI and robotics sectors.

The store, set to open on Friday, is described by director Wang Yifan as a '4S' center, providing comprehensive services such as sales, spare parts, maintenance, and customer surveys. With prices ranging from 2,000 to several million yuan, these products aim to fill households with cutting-edge technology.

This initiative is a strategic response to China's pressing socio-economic challenges, like its ageing populace and stagnating growth. Backed by over $20 billion in subsidies and a planned $137 billion fund, Beijing is making a definitive push to support emerging AI and robotics ventures.
