Aptiv Launches Cutting-Edge Technical Centre to Propel AI Innovation in India
Aptiv PLC has established a 34,000 sq ft Advanced Safety and User Experience Technical Centre in Chennai, India, aiming to house 500 engineers by 2026 and enhance AI and safety-critical systems. The centre focuses on next-gen Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and localizing AI technologies for Indian consumers.

Aptiv PLC, a global technology company, has opened a new technical centre in Chennai—marking a significant milestone in its strategic expansion plans in India. The Advanced Safety and User Experience Technical Centre spans 34,000 sq ft and aims to employ around 500 engineers by 2026.
Equipped with state-of-the-art labs and testing infrastructure, the facility promises to accelerate innovation in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and safety-critical systems. The company's focus will be on developing next-generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and in-cabin sensing technologies.
The centre was inaugurated on August 18 by key figures such as Javed Khan and R Velusamy, with plans to enhance localization of AI and machine learning technologies for the Indian market. With operations employing over 13,000 people and eight manufacturing sites, Aptiv continues to invest in localizing technology solutions tailored to local automakers.
