Philippines President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. received a grand ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt on Tuesday. The event underscored the importance of his visit, as President Droupadi Murmu welcomed him alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Marking his inaugural visit to India since taking office, President Marcos arrived in New Delhi on Monday, accompanied by First Lady Madame Louise Araneta Marcos and an official delegation. Over his five-day stay, he is set to engage in key discussions with Prime Minister Modi to enhance bilateral relations.

The reception included a Guard of Honour and saw the attendance of high-profile dignitaries such as External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. On the first day, Jaishankar met President Marcos, adding to the itinerary's momentum.
