Titled “Look: AI at Work! – Analysing Key Aspects of AI-support at the Work Place”, the research draws on twelve real-world cases from the WIRKsam project, which studies how AI can be integrated into work systems of the future. The findings present a comprehensive assessment of how companies and workers must adapt to fully benefit from AI while mitigating risks of mistrust, resistance, and identity shifts in professional roles.
Technological readiness depends on data, expertise, and literacy
The study identifies seven key technological areas where AI applications cluster: problem solving, optimization, planning, decision-making, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and probabilistic reasoning. Each carries distinct requirements for input data, domain knowledge, and transparency of outputs.
