Devastation in Zaporizhzhia: Russian Strikes Escalate Across Ukraine
An early Tuesday attack by Russian forces on Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, has caused significant damage, killing a man and injuring 18, including two children. Russian forces launched a significant attack on Ukraine's southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia early Tuesday, leaving one man dead and at least 18 people injured. Among the injured were two children, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov, who reported that the assault also ignited numerous fires.
The city's emergency services detailed a fire spanning 350 square meters affecting residential buildings and a service station, following ten strikes from multiple rocket launch systems. This attack damaged 10 apartment buildings and 12 private homes.
In a broader offensive, Russian troops targeted several Ukrainian cities in the central, south, and east regions with over 100 drones and about 150 glide bombs. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy noted that these actions are part of a broader aerial offensive that Ukraine seeks to counter with enhanced joint defense systems.
