Nextgen Semiconductors Set to Revolutionize India's Chip Industry
Nextgen Semiconductors plans to establish a chip manufacturing facility in Gujarat, aiming to raise Rs 1,000-1,500 crore through equity. The company will invest over Rs 8,800 crore to develop a complete Si and SiC power semiconductor platform. A MoU has been signed, excluding Hitachi Energy as previously reported.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat – In a significant move for India's semiconductor industry, Nextgen Semiconductors has announced plans to establish a comprehensive chip manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The company is gearing up to secure Rs 1,000-1,500 crore through equity and other financial instruments over the next year.
The project entails a total investment of over Rs 8,800 crore, aimed at creating an integrated Silicon (Si) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) power semiconductor platform in Dholera, Gujarat. This ambitious plan is expected to position India as a critical player in the global semiconductor arena.
Recently, reports mistakenly indicated a definitive agreement with Hitachi Energy, but it has been clarified that Nextgen has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. and the Gujarat State Electronics Mission. Hitachi Energy is not involved in the current agreement.
