SBL Energy, based in Nagpur's Katol tehsil, is set to implement SCOUT, an AI-powered CCTV analytics solution aimed at boosting safety standards by predicting and preventing potential hazards like fires or gas leaks. The move aims to foster a proactive safety culture within the factory's operations.

In response to a recent explosion at a different factory in the region, which resulted in one death and multiple injuries, SBL Energy's Chief Technology Officer, Shubham Choudhari, highlighted their compliance with stringent safety guidelines, including PESO, while also revealing plans to bridge gaps in worker safety adherence through AI technology.

The SCOUT system promises to convert current surveillance into smart monitoring tools, capable of real-time detection of safety violations such as missing personal protective equipment or unauthorized entry. This innovative approach not only ensures real-time alerts but also provides centralized dashboards for comprehensive incident reporting, aligning with statutory compliance and enhancing on-site safety.
