China Tightens Grip on European Telecom Suppliers

China is imposing new restrictions on European telecom giants, Nokia and Ericsson, which are now subject to rigorous national security evaluations by the Cyberspace Administration of China.

These reviews require comprehensive documentation about every component and the local content ratios of systems offered by the bidders, introducing a complex layer for state buyers of telecom equipment.

While Ericsson declined to comment on these developments, Nokia has not yet responded, and the Cyberspace Administration could not be immediately reached for a statement.
