In a landmark announcement, Ola Electric revealed it has become the pioneering two-wheeler EV manufacturer to acquire a government certification for its domestically developed rare-earth-free ferrite motor.

This achievement signals a substantial advancement, eliminating dependency on foreign-imported rare-earth motors. The certification process was conducted by the Global Automotive Research Centre in Tamil Nadu following stringent performance evaluations and required power tests as per the AIS 041 standard stipulated by India's Ministry of Road Transport.

Ola Electric stated that its ferrite motor delivers efficiency, performance, and durability on par with the previously relied upon rare-earth magnet motors, while also significantly reducing costs. The company plans to introduce this motor across its product range, promising enhanced performance and sustainability to its consumers.
