Sai Life Sciences has made a significant leap in sustainable operations by converting its Bidar campus to run entirely on renewable power, a first for an Indian CRDMO facility. The campus, housing major API manufacturing units, represents a strategic shift towards long-term sustainability and environmental responsibility.

CEO & Managing Director Krishna Kanumuri emphasizes the long-term vision of their infrastructure, projecting future global industry standards that focus on sustainability, resilience, and efficiency. The transition began in 2020, with renewable sources gradually increasing to 57% in 2022 and reaching 100% in renewable electricity usage by fiscal 2026.

The milestone was achieved through solar and wind power, strategic power purchase agreements, and investments in clean energy infrastructure. This effort aligns with Sai Life Sciences' commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions by over 35,000 metric tonnes annually and serves as a model of integrating scientific innovation with sustainability.
