India and the United States have solidified a framework to ensure the steady supply of critical minerals, a pivotal step owing to concerns over China's control on rare earth elements. The agreement was signed alongside the Quad foreign ministers' meeting in New Delhi.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted the partnership's strategic importance, emphasizing that it enhances cooperation across the entire supply chain of critical minerals and rare earths, from mining to recycling.

The framework is expected to fortify resilient and diversified supply chains and secure investment in critical mineral projects. This move aligns with the Pax Silica initiative, focusing on building a secure and innovative supply chain for critical minerals and AI.
