The Indian semiconductor innovator, Netrasemi, is preparing its A2000 AI chipset for commercial production this year. The company, supported by funds from Zoho and design-linked government incentives, has announced that their chip is poised for mass production after achieving silicon bringup.

The A2000 chipset, designed to enhance smart vision and real-time video analytics, will cater to various applications like surveillance drones, robotics, and industrial automation. Notably, the chip is manufactured at TSMC in Taiwan yet plans to shift future production to Tata Electronics' facility in Gujarat.

Delivered in a smaller form factor, the A2000 integrates innovative hardware acceleration for power-sensitive edge devices. Jyothis Indirabhai, Netrasemi Co-founder and CEO, emphasized the importance of domain-specific optimizations for high-performance edge AI, highlighting collaborative efforts with top OEMs for evaluation and development.

Netrasemi has garnered a total of Rs 125 crore in funding from investors including Zoho, with significant support also from the government's DLI program, bolstering their path to successfully launching the A2000 chip.
