Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries is integrating artificial intelligence at the heart of its media and entertainment division. By doing so, the conglomerate hopes to secure its position as a leading entertainment hub in India, according to its latest annual report.

The firm believes AI will redefine entertainment, transforming everything from content development to user experience. In fiscal year 2026, its media division, including entities like JioStar, Jio Studios, and Network18, saw exceptional growth in viewership, engagement, and sales.

The revenue from this segment reached Rs 34,917 crore, nearly doubling from Rs 17,762 crore the previous year. Reliance is not only eyeing AI for operational efficiency but as a fundamental component that will change content creation and audience interaction.

The strategy focuses on enhancing leadership in large-screen entertainment, shifting towards connected TVs, and diversifying mobile platforms through interactive and personalized content. JioStar, a joint venture with Walt Disney, continues to anchor Reliance's sports and storytelling offerings in India.
